I loved this commentary from boy's briefs.
Who knew Anakin Skywalker was such a circuit twink? In Revenge of the Sith, the third and final installment of the Star Wars prequels, he's a hunky, impressionable young man seduced by an older, single gentleman who promises him wealth, power and a chance to rule the dancefloor, err, galaxy. Anakin ultimately turns against his wife and friends, shacks up with the older gentleman, and slips into a fierce, black leather bodysuit. That's when the heavy breathing begins.
Ok, the gay angle is a bit of a stretch. Star Wars, not to mention its legion of dorky fans, ain't exactly a beloved token of gay culture. The closest thing we get to a gay subplot is the relationship between partnered life-droids C-3PO and R2-D2.
Despite the absence of clearly identifiable gay characters, Star Wars and other science fiction movies like it offer queer moviegoers something else: an escape hatch to other worlds. As gay men, we often feel out of place in our own world so we seek comfort in fantasy lands, whether they be over the rainbow or in a galaxy far, far away. Star Wars, with its distant planets and imaginative creatures, fulfills that need in droves.
American, gay, pretty AND intelligent?

Gay robots ... totally HOT! And I totally disagree with the absence of gay characters, I think Obi-Wan is totally into Anakin! Wouldn't you be?
