This movie coming from Hollywood and doing as well as it has done very much surprises me. In fact, I called up my other movie fanatic and asked him if he has seen it and turns out I am the one who has clearly been left behind. It is a real piece of great cinema dealing with some seriously hard, gritty, emotional matters in a post 9-11 world in Los Angeles, if not the United States. It is hard to point out which is the star of the movie since each performance is heart wrenching and awe inspiring. From Don Cheadle to yes even Sandra Bullock. This movie intersects six or so lives over a period of 36 hours and how each life dramatically impacts another whether or not the people intend it to. This is sorta in the Amores Perros sense but it's less developed in Crash which is a lot more of a statement on race. And race shown in such a way that even you, the unracist one out there who clearly believes he isn't racist, will hopefully stop and think about the world. The movie won't leave you speechless but it will deliver some serious thoughts and some seriously powerful scenes including the one which created the movie poster. Netflix it now !
