I watched Chill Out last night which for the first 20 minutes or so made me believe I rented 3 shit movies in a row. Almodovar's "What Have I Done to Deserve This" being the last of that three shit rental week. I love Almodovar. In fact a good amount of my favorite all time movies are by him but Deserve This just blew. Like, I fell asleep many times in trying to watch it. But back to Chill out, which is about 3 lives that intertwine in post-Cold War Berlin. There is a unique bond that finds them revealing more than they ever imagined, and it only happens in the last 5 or so minutes. I wouldn't rate this movie highly but seeing Berlin, experienceing some cute gay love story, and hearing German was all a good thing. Fake tattooed, lean, hot haired Max (Barnaby Metschurat) was definitely an added bonus, if you get my drift.
