I read Details magazine during lunch yesterday at work. I found some really interesting things in it. Here we go:
- The ratio of Federal Airport Security Screeners to the Federal Rail and Public Transit Security Screeners is 450 to 1.
- $3,300 is how much money was spent on makeup artists and makeup during the past six years by British Prime Minister Tony Blair, according to the Sunday Times of London.
- 2.3 Million Dollars in a Commission that Sotheby's missed out on after losing a game of rock-paper-scissors with rival Christie's. A Japanese collector set up the match to choose an auction hosue for what turned out to be a $17.8 million sale. Sotheby's opened with paper while Christie's threw scissors. (lol)
- Yohji Yamamoto, Japan's elegant king of noi and the creator of Adida's Y-3 sneakers, says that "Fashion cannot make you sexy. Experience makes you sexy. Imagination makes people sexy. You have to train yourself, and you have to study, and you have to life life, your life." He also continues with, "Life is better for beautiful people. You can become lucky if you are beautiful, you can become rich. But there is no truth in this definition of beauty."
- defamer.com is a must read.
I like that quote from Yohji!
