I rarely ever do this but I was talking to someone the other day about how it would be interesting to see the progress of one of my paintings from start to finish. I thought it was a great idea, though I have thought of it many times before, yet have never felt motivated enough to take out my digiCam and get some pics. I finally decided to do so today but I missed the beginning of the painting. First, it gets stretched, then gessoed (so you can paint on the canvas), then some base layers of color go down, and in the case of this painting, I sketched in a hot as fuck cowboy in oil stick. This is really the first time the painting has started to look like something, yet it is far from being done. I usually say it is about some % done and I would say that this is like at 25%.
this is a fantastic idea. I hope you keep up with the updates because I personally would love to see another artists process...so pleaseplease please.
looks good so far btw...
also, what are the size dimensions?
cheers.
