Sunday night I went to the Sigur Ros concert. If you have no idea who
they are, read this entry (Takk). They were playing at the outdoor
Bank of America Pavilion which thankfully had a tent-like roof, because
if you haven't realized it the Northeast is receiving so much rain that
it seems that we are being punished by all known Gods. I mainly am
beginning to wonder if I should book a room on an ark or something. It
was also nearly freezing but the large cups of Harpoon beer, my jacket,
long sleeve henley, buttondown, and my surfer hoodie helped alleviate
the cold situation (I won't mention that it is mid-MAY!). They took
the stage an hour after promised (but thankfully we didn't get there
until 15minutes before) and went at it beginning behind some sort of
screen which allowed them to project some sort of video art as well as
creating
some awesome shadows, as they began the concert behind the
screen (hence the shadows). They basically hit the ball out of the
park right from the start as they began with Saeglopur and went through some
of their new songs, Takk especially, and blending in some old favorites like Untitled 1 & 4
which is the song I fell in love with them over. They were absolutely fantastic and the concert was a lot of fun, though a lot more chilled then the
Madonna, Justin or DMB concerts I am used to going to. It was also
fitting that when you looked out from the tent or when they caught
their breath that it was incredibly downpouring.
