Hi there...just found your blog and am really enjoying it...I grew up in Swansea, MA and spent quite a bit of time in Bristol whilst growing up. I now live in NYC.

Your blog caught my eye because we share quite a few passions including photography. Now that the mini-bio is out of the way...

Although I have only been to Fire Island twice I agree with your initial thoughts versus P'town (where I have been going since childhood). Having said that I also found FI to be a lot less dynamic and full of life whereas P'town feels ever evolving (with all of its good and bad) with a strong sense of hope and yet a strong grounding in its history.

Both places have some beautiful unspoiled nature if you look past the human distractions (although in some cases I don't think I want to look beyond the...um, "distractions").

Sadly they both share one thing in common...they are becoming less and less accesible to anyone but those with plenty of money to spare.

Would like to chat with you some time if you care to make a new friend.
