Recommended to me by a friend, Dangerous Angels by Francesca Lia Block is a fantastic tale like nothing I have ever read before. It reads like a modern day fairy tale. The author has a total talent for creating magical worlds, sort of like that of Harry Potter's J.K. Rowling but better, and much more interestingly mature. The description of each character in the story is really great, brilliant on some levels, and some are instantly identifiable. What made the book brilliant though is her excessive use of descriptive adjectives and details.
From the book:
"A kiss about apple pie a la mode with the vanilla creaminess melting in the pie heat. A kiss about chocolate, when you haven't eaten chocolate in a year. A kiss about palm trees speeding by, trailing pink clouds when you drive down the Strip sizzling with champagne. A kiss about spotlights fanning the sky and the swollen sea spilling like tears all over your legs."
"Then Pup looked at Dirk. When Dirk saw what was in Pup's eyes his heart contracted with tiny pulses, the Nancy Nance's body was trembling near his. Dirk knew then that Pup loved him too. But mixed with Pup's love was fear and soon it was just fear sucking the love away. Pup closed his eyes and there wasn't even fear anymore. There was just a beautiful boy with pointed ears kissing a girl in a jacuzzi, a boy who hardly knew that Dirk existed."
be sure to read the sequel -- necklace of kisses. It's the whole gang, but all grown up. Her other books are amazing, too. I'd recommend, for sure, I was a Teenage Fairy and Nymph and Guarding the Moon, if you want to read about her personal life.

thanks for your comment :) i like your blog too, very creative! Talking about kisses and such, for some reason i have always wanted to kiss my date while in the gravitron, just to see if we could go against all odds :) Today i have forgotten about how hard the gravitational forces pull during such thrill, but my guess is that it probably isnt that hard to unstick yourself from those leathery walls and slap a sudden kiss on that person you love, wouldn't it be awesome and not too mention uber romantic to know that at first the the gravitational pull will tend to draw you away from that person but when you are close enough to him the forces push you towards him thus making that kiss unavoidable then and like moths to flypaper you'd be stuck, at least until the ride ended. i'm drunk (Lol)
