The Macy's Downtown Crossing store (for those not familiar with Boston, this is the ghetto shopping area downtown) display featured two male mannequins - one wearing a gay pride rainbow flag around its waist - standing near a list of several planned Boston Pride events. I actually saw this display this past Sunday when I was walking through the area with BRad. I thought it was great, fun, hot, forward thinking, surprising.. yet great. Clearly others, like the lunatic Christians, thought otherwise. Seriously... why isn't anyone realizing that the vile filth flowing from the mouths of these absolute lunatics is about as ridiculous as George Bush running our country, or purple aliens having an orgy upstairs from me. I seriously think Christianity has lost its mind, as have anyone believing it. Talk about 6-6-6 and the anti-Christ? Don't look to far little peeps, it all within you. Anyways, sorry for that "I am surely going to hell outburst."
Boston Herald: The display was designed by Macy’s with the approval of the Boston Pride Committee. But the store yanked the mannequins from the window after MassResistance, the conservative group formerly named Article 8 Alliance which has also campaigned against sex education and gay-themed books in public schools, complained the display was offensive.
“They were male mannequins with enlarged breasts, and one was wearing a skirt,” said MassResistance president Brian Camenker, referring to the gay pride flag wrapped around one figure, cinched with a white belt. “It was really disgusting.”

Pass this around! Get the word out!
Hmmm... I suppose that if Macy's thought they would lose more customers than it is worth by keeping the mannequins in the window, they had to do it. But it sure is funny thinking that the flag was a skirt - sounds like somebody has a few unresolved issues there! I think that Macy's should get calls (617-357-3000) and emails (couldn't find it, damn) from people who were not offended by such a display. Its probably a done deal, but it would be great to at least let them know we liked the thought...
