Transamerica was a spectacular movie. It was incredibly powerful, emotionally stirring, and spoke to me on so many levels about the power of love. Not that I am unfamiliar with it. Felicity Huffman did a brilliant job. She deserved the Best Actress award from the Academy, and not just at the Golden Globes. Transamerica is advertised as a comedy but somehow I think they are a little misguided with the labeling. I did laugh out loud a few times but still... it is so much more than a comedy. It definitely takes on an air of indieness at times but I definitely think this film is one not to be missed. And the boy is hot, once he gets a little cleaned up.
I wanted to see this movie when it was showing at the theatres but then i missed it! i want to see it now! :)

i havent seen transamerica yet, but it is on my list of "must-watch". I also met a trangendered kid while in argentina and his stories were more tragic than comedic, and though it is good to vent out by poking fun of difficult situations i really want a hollywood movie to portray the issue with as much accuracy as possible the difficulties that trangendered people encounter on their daily lifes, with that said. I am sure transamerica took a step in the right direction but i'm also afraid that it can undermine the seriousness and complicated lives that trangendered people already live, because let's face it we live in a country that is in a whole ignoraant to when it comes to labeling sexuality and people. One thing julian said to me was "i am not a liar, nor am i an impostor, but the movie was good" i am going to rent it :) anyhow i love your painting they are all so rad, i also paint (great blog)

I don't see many movies - I can't sit still long enough - but I've been wanting to see this one and I'll make more of an effort because you say it's so good. By the way, Frank, what happened to you? We were talking for a while, you were filling me in on your art, I was going to buy something if I could afford it, you were going to fall madly in love with me, you know, standard chain of events. I'm playin. But for real, haven't heard from you. Hope all's well.

I agree, I just recently saw it as well and thought it was great. Another film I recently saw and would recommend even more is 'Cote D'Azur'. It also goes by the french title 'Coquillages et Crustaceons'. (I think thats it.) Its a GREAT film I think you'll LOVE it, definitely see it!! And thanks for updating my link, I appreciate it;)
