The sad thing about the story below is that I actually agree with Chavez. In fact, I actually think he is right on track with all of his sentences, especially about the UN not working, and about the United States controlling the world.. Now all we need is one American politician to come out and say the same. Where oh where is he? Oh wait, they all are spineless losers too worried about some freak organization pulling their money.
At U.N., Chavez Calls Bush 'The Devil' - New York Times.
UNITED NATIONS (AP) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez took his verbal battle with the United States to the floor of the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday, calling President Bush ''the devil.''
The impassioned speech by the leftist leader came a day after Bush and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sparred over Tehran's disputed nuclear program but managed to avoid a personal encounter.
''The devil came here yesterday,'' Chavez said, referring to Bush's address on Tuesday and making the sign of the cross. ''He came here talking as if he were the owner of the world.''
Chavez, who has joined Iran in opposing U.S. influence, accused Washington of ''domination, exploitation and pillage of peoples of the world.''
''We appeal to the people of the United States and the world to halt this threat, which is like a sword hanging over our head,'' he said.
He also said the U.N. ''doesn't work'' in its current system and is ''antidemocratic.'' He called for reform, saying the U.S. government's ''immoral veto'' had allowed recent Israeli bombings of Lebanon to continue unabated for more than a month.
Oh seriously people - you live in cloud cookoo land if you really think that your President offers the world "freedom" as some of you put it. The measure of a government is the freedom it gives its dissidents, not the freedom it gives its assimilated conformists (to quote someone I cannot recall). Bush has been busy removing freedoms, of disrespecting those who need his help and support. As for comparative history - you might consider that the fortunes of the US have also been contributed to by many individuals and nations and cultures who are not Americans. Instead of the tirade of abuse Bush directs at countries, such as my own, who do not support his illegal and arrogant acts, he might want to consider the value and freedom the world has allowed the US to become itself.

If the US owned the world as the idiot Chavez says we do then this world would be in better shape. As I also disagree with this current administration on manny things. Our country is the greatest place to live. I have been to over 30 countries and nothing can compare to this one when it comes to the freedoms we have. When it comes to the gay issue here in the US it is ignorance that has caused the problem. And in my opinion with ignorance comes hate. The radical muslims of this world do want and are seeking to rule the world more so than the US ever has. If wanting a country to have their people live in freedom is so bad then I guess we are the evil ones. But I suggest that if anyone agrees with Chavez on his idiotic beliefs then they should go live in his country and see how much freedom they would have there.

Oh stop going so hyperbolic. Bush may be an incompetent president, but he is *not* the devil, nor does he nor America act like it owns the world. If you really believe this, then you need to take some comparative history and political science classes. Maybe a visit to see what daily life is like in Chavez's venezuela would be good too. We ain't no angels, but the alternatives are even worse, and life without us would be pretty stark.
