Out Magazine Will Honor the 100 Most Influential People in Gay Culture at Out100 Awards Article:
"At the end of each year, gay Americans look back to celebrate their victories, reflect on any defeats and prepare for the year ahead," said Aaron Hicklin, Out magazine's Editor in Chief. "The Out100 issue celebrates the men and women who have helped shape gay culture throughout the year."
For the first time ever, worldwide audiences will be able to experience the Out100 event as it happens as celebrities and honorees at the event blog their experiences live on Out.com. Special T-Mobile Sidekick 3 blogging stations will be set up throughout the event to provide a behind-the-scenes view. Leading up to the Out100, celebrities and special guests will blog on a variety of topics on Out.com, with photos and video footage from the most memorable past Out100 events also being featured.
"We wanted to capture this year's awards in a different way," comments Out's publisher, Joe Landry. "By allowing people from all over the world to experience the Out100 live, we hope to spread our message of recognizing those who contribute positively to gay culture to an even broader audience."
A limited edition Out100 t-shirt from Alternative will be featured in this year's gift bags, among other items from Calvin Klein Underwear, Kiehl's, L'Oreal, Hershey, Paul Mitchell and Macy's. The 2006 Out100 is presented by T-Mobile Sidekick3 and generously supported by Target, Saturn, BMS Light to Unite, Absolut, Sapphire Condominiums and Movado.
That was my Friday night thanks to Joe. It was a fun time thanks to the free alcohol, the delicious gift bag (where is my fucking Sidekick 3?) and the awesome company. The for sure highlight was seeing Anne Hathaway from Devil Wears Prada and Princess Diaries, though given the wretched acoustics and the lackluster soundsystem they built for the party, you couldn't hear any speech given at all. Oh well, I really don't think Patricia Field or anyone from the movie Shortbus had anything worth hearing anyway. Afterwards I headed to the restaurant Tour in Chelsea with a Boston friend Stephen (who was bopping around the party). I called it an early night because I knew my Saturday night was going to be a long one.
After returning my Kenneth Cole boots that looked oh so hot on me yet seriously fucked up the heel on my right (soccer kicking :P ) foot from wearing them once (and even I don't care about killing myself for fashion that much), I met up with Mike and Michael and my friend Brian from Boston. We had a beautiful sunny afternoon looking for a bong and a fabulous night out on the town. Thanks to back taxes, the famed nightclub Roxy was closed and looks to be closed for awhile (yay) so we had a bunch of bar choices and only a few club choices worthy of heading to, we ended up at a party called Bank which is actually at the club Element. It was a great time. The music was awesome especially once it neared 4am (and they changed DJ's haha) and the most European I have ever experienced in the US. It was also the most intensely crowded club (and one of the most attractive) I have ever been to. Thankfully it didn't turn druggy or Roxy-like until super LATE in the night or early if you look at it that way but by then the crowd had thinned and the hotter boys had left. There are a few smaller rooms downstairs in the vaults of the bank which were sooo hot. And by hot, I also mean steamy and darker. Though not a backroom, the downstairs rooms were much more intimate, much less crowded, and the music was either a little more lounge or a lot more house. Pretty cool. The DJ played Madonna's "I Love New York" which pretty much made the night. Throw in the model-worthy boys and well, it was a great time.
Cool t-shirt!!

Anne Anne Anne... you forgot to mention she was in BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN! Hello!! "The Princess Diaries" didn't bring her into the spotlight of millions of gays. Well... maybe. LOL!! But Brokeback is her claim to gayness... :-)
