First, I am sorry I haven't been super blogging. I became bored with it a tad bit, and that is obviously noticeable. I have actually debated stopping the whole blog thing. I am not committing to that idea but it has been nearly 3 years and I dunno, we will see.
Last night at about 1:30am on my walk home from my friends house, I witnessed two huge flatbed trucks covered with Christmas trees stopped at a corner store unloading their raped trees. I thought it was adorable and a total New York moment. As I continued to walk I passed through a Christmas tree selling section on a corner (near 55th and 9th) and deeply inhaled the smell of the trees. I love the smell Christmas trees or I guess pine. I now have a HUGE interest in going to see the tree at Rockefeller, drink some delicious hot chocolate in some adorable W.Village cafe and people watch, and walk down 5th Avenue to see the Holiday windows (which most New Yorkers avoid like the plague because tourists on 5th Avenue are enough to make you want to throw yourself in front of a bus).
I have been trying to get myself in the holiday spirit, since I am now a firm believer that Christmas is really meant for children. I am nearly into it since I have been brainwashing myself with Christmas music, events like the gay Toys for Tots party I went to in Chelsea Sunday night, and other sick things like watching Miracle on 34th Street. Yes, I Frank Malafronte, bought and donated a toy for a child. Since everyone thinks I am evil (which is nearly true) I really felt great about giving a child, the real reason of Christmas, something to be excited for when he wakes up on Christmas morning. The party was uneventful.
Well, I have to say I was quite dumbfounded when I heard you were considering quitting the whole blogging thing. Now, where am I going to go after my NYTimes homepage every morning before work to find a talented and witty New Yorker writing about who-the-hell-knows-what. Should I start visiting the Weather Channel's website? Just remember you have fans out here, Frank. Take this for your consideration.
